New Fast-Curing Polyurethane Pourable Flooring and Sealing Technology addresses an Unmet Need in Commercial Vehicles
Cincinnati, OH – September 8, 2016
The ChemQuest Group, Inc., a leading business strategy firm in specialty chemicals, has co-developed a webcast with Dow Automotive Systems, which will be presented on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at 1:30 pm EST.
The webcast – delivered through SAE International – will discuss wear and tear experienced by school buses, city buses, and other commercial vehicles, and the advanced solutions required to improve durability and safety.
In the webcast, Dan Daley will outline manufacturing and service requirements of commercial vehicle flooring systems. Frank Billotto, Industry Manager for Commercial Transportation at Dow Automotive Systems, will introduce a new, easy-to-apply flooring and sealing technology that can eliminate side wall moldings and sealers as well as center aisle aluminum extrusions. The customized two-part polyurethane technology has quick cure times that allow for rapid manufacturing cycles, and reportedly will provide a durable and long-lasting flooring system for painted surfaces, plywood, and metal.
The webinar also discusses flooring solutions from both the commercial vehicle manufacturer and supplier perspective. An audience Q&A follows the technical presentation. To register online or for more information on the SAE webcast go to https://event.webcasts.com/starthere.jsp?ei=1112265
Earlier this year, Dan Daley discussed unmet adhesives technology needs in school bus body manufacturing stemming from open assembly time in ChemQuest’s Strategic Solutions column of the April 2016 issue of the Adhesives & Sealants Industry (ASI) Magazine, which is archived online, and is also available in ChemQuest’s Resource Center at https://chemquest.com/resource-center.
Dan Daley is Senior Consultant for The ChemQuest Group Inc. Dan held various senior polymeric materials engineering and lab management positions during his 30-year career at Navistar International, a truck and engine OEM. His technical leadership included problem-solving in material compatibility and chemical interactions with an eye toward process optimization, improvements in material performance/cost ratios, and strategic sourcing.
